Mahina: Full Moon Illumination
Illumination: Spiritual or intellectual enlightenment.
This final full moon of the Year of the Snake is a time of enlightenment (e.g. clarity of perception, reasons and knowledge; free from suffering) and awakening.
What is the light of illumination revealing to us?
What truths are being revealed by others and within ourselves?
We are also in a time of revelation - a powerful awakening and a time in which karmic energy is rising. It is important for us to be clean - the cleanliness of the soul, emotional body and patterns of the mind (e.g. mindset).
It is time to choose to see the truth and light within and to strive towards living in greater alignment with this light. It is a time to assess whether our choices and actions are in alignment with the divine light (e.g. the divine light of Our Creator of unconditional love, compassion, joy, trust, faith, and forgiveness) that resides within us.
While it is important to recognize when others are not living in alignment with these truths of the light, it is especially important for us to see how we are living in alignment with these truths or not. Thus, during this full moon the energy and light will help us see more clearly the ways we are living in alignment with the light of our true authentic self and the divine light; a time of illumination.
The shadow and darkness within us and around us is being revealed.
It is a time to challenge ourselves to see these truths so that shadow and darkness can be transmuted into light, addressed and healed rather than fall back into old habits of minimizing, dismissing, ignoring or blinding ourselves to the shadow and darkness within and around us.
The illumination and energetic effect of the full moon is not only one night, but, a period of time typically 3 days before and 3 days after the apex of the full moon illumination, which is tonight. Thus, the powerful energetic effects of truth being revealed and shadows no longer able to hide in the darkness are intensifying. Things we have been ignoring (e.g. personal health, unhealthy relationships, habits, patterns, and mindsets) can no longer be ignored, things that were once unseen (e.g. character and intentions of others, how we treat ourselves, etc.) are now being seen.
During this time of illumination, revelation and enlightenment, it is an ideal time to identify what we are ready to leave behind in the Year of the Snake. What shadow and darkness is being revealed to us now that can help us more clearly see what is in alignment with our light, feeds and strengthens our light, our health and wellness and what takes away or compromises us.
Tonight and over the next few days, sit in meditation, go for a walk, take a moment to breath and go inward. Reflect upon what truths, especially of shadow and darkness have revealed themselves - regarding relationships, work, health, how we direct and share our time and energy. The challenge is for us to expand our mind to see the whole picture of truth, which includes light, shadow and darkness. When we update what we know to be true, we see more clearly and take more decisive action. As we move into the new lunar year of the Fire Horse, we want to be clear, decisive and ready to take action.
This is also an important time to consider what we want more of in our lives for what we give permission to be in our lives and what we say “yes” to will grow in the new lunar year. Therefore, it is helpful to clearly articulate and write on paper what we wish to grow in the new year and what action or steps will we take to support this growth.
What are the things, relationships, experiences that amplify light, joy, happiness, health, well-being and raise our vibration? What will we grow in 2026? What seeds of light will I plant?
What are the things, experiences and relationships that feed our soul and replenishing us? What are the things that take away from us?
May we guided and protected in the light during this time of illumination, enlightnement and revelation.
